This June, can you get closer to nature every day for a month and complete random acts of wildness for The Wildlife Trusts’ 30 Days Wild challenge?

For over a hundred years, The Wildlife Trusts have been speaking out about nature in the UK. The Wildlife Trusts ‘…want to inspire people about the natural world so that they value it, understand their relationship with it and take action to protect and restore it.’ So it’s no surprise they have come up with the great idea of a 30 Days Wild challenge.

No matter how busy you are, see if you can make room for nature every day throughout June and treat yourself to some time outdoors with your family.

Here’s some quick ideas:

  • If you can shut your eyes for a minute to listen to a bird singing or take a second to smell a wild flower, then you’ll have made nature a part of your life for that day.
  • Head to your local park or nature reserve and take some pictures of the flowers. See if your children can identify them when you get home.
  • Lie down on the grass together and watch the clouds float by – have fun seeing what they look like!
  • Half-an-hour’s walk on your local beach splashing at the water’s edge or finding sea shells is sure to clear the cobwebs and certainly ticks off the challenge for the day.
  • Have a really close hunt around your own garden together. You’ll be surprised what little fingers can find.
  • Find more ideas by seeing our Simple and FREE outdoor family fun post.
  • For further inspiration, you can find information about your local branch of the Wildlife Trusts by clicking here.

When you sign up to the 30 Days Wild challenge, you’ll get a ‘Random Acts of Wildness’ pack of ideas, inspiration and information on local events and places you can explore. You’ll also get emails throughout the month with links to things you can do near where you live. Find more information by clicking here.

Adventures in Family Land will be taking part, and we’ll pop pictures on our Facebook and Twitter throughout June. Why not join us? Tag us @TweetAFL on Twitter to show us your pics 🙂
